Class Experience
I enjoy teaching a weekly, ongoing art class for many reasons. I love being able to see the same students each week to really connect and watch them grow as an artist and to watch the students become friends with each other to build their own sense of community by connecting with the same students each week. This weekly art class is ongoing through the the summer starting late June and ending the last week in July. Note: The 2023-2024 School Year of Art will start September and end in...
This class is taught in English.
Each week depending on the project we will have opportunities to discuss the elements of art, learn about a famous artist and their style of art, as well as learning different art techniques along the way.
These are the supplies we will be using most of the time, it varies week to week depending on the project. If there is a special supply needed for the upcoming project, you will be notified in advance so that you have plenty of time to get what you need. *A pdf file for you to print of the supply list will be sent to you after enrollment. -Pencil & eraser (I love this white eraser... Pentel Hi-Polymer Eraser) -Canvas (any size you like to work with - I use 9 x 12 and 11 x 14 mostly) -Watercolor paper (I use 9 x 12 and 11 x 15, Canson XL brand is great and cheaper!) -12 x 18 Sulphite Heavyweight Construction Paper (white and black mostly, but it does come in an assorted colors pack that is great too) -Acrylic Paint (assorted colors) -Paint brushes in a variety of sizes (round and flat) -Watercolors (Pan sets or Liquid will be great) -Oil Pastels (these will be used often, they are bold and creamy) -Chalk pastels (soft pastels) -Black Fine Tip Sharpie (waterproof marker) - Washable Markers (Like Crayola) -White Glue / Glue Stick -Scissors -Baby wipes (for hands if we need a quick clean up (especially when we use our fingers as a tool for blending chalk) Sometimes the class will require a handout which I will send to you a week in advance.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Some projects might require scissors and an adult to help with cutting.
