Beginner Level

This 6-week self-paced course offers an engaging introduction to singing for children aged 7-11. With two lessons per week, students will develop essential skills in vocal technique, posture, and performance. The course is designed to be fun and accessible, ensuring that each child builds a solid foundation for future musical growth.

Learners will have a better understanding of how the voice works.

Learners will learn proper posture and breathing to support the voice.

Syllabus

12 Lessons

over 6 Weeks

Lesson 1:

Understanding Your Voice and Breath Control

 Learn how we produce sound and how to support your voice with proper breathing

Lesson 2:

Starting with Warm-Ups

 Learn some fun ways to warm up your singing voice

Lesson 3:

Pitch and Finding Your Voice

 We will continue to explore the range and begin matching pitches

Lesson 4:

Posture for Singing

 Practice maintaining good posture as you vocalize

Hi There! I am a Music Instructor with 20 years of teaching experience, a professional Studio Session Singer, a published Songwriter and a Homeschool Mom. I offer vocal coaching for all ages and levels as well as beginner piano and ukulele lessons.

I have worked continuously as a private music instructor for two decades. I've coached hundreds of aspiring singers and have learned first hand what teaching techniques bring out the best in my students. I am also a published songwriter and worked as a session singer in Los Angeles for over 10 years lending my music and voice to many tv and film projects. I'm extremely passionate about music and the incredible benefits it has to offer.

It is important to me that my students have a pleasant learning experience so I love to give positive feedback and encouragement. I will offer my knowledge and expertise at appropriate times and also keep things lighthearted and fun for young learners.

It's also my greatest pleasure to be homeschooling my 8 yr. old son and I feel so lucky to be able to share my love of music with him as he starts out on his learning journey. When I am not teaching, homeschooling, or making music, you can find me out hiking and being inspired by nature!
