[IMPORTANT NOTE: This listing is usually fully booked by late August to mid September for the Fall. Please select the weekly auto renewal option during the booking process to ensure your chosen place in the schedule is set aside for dates moving forward. 50 minute sessions are also available upon request, schedule permitting.] In this individualized class, I provide personalized instruction to each student, tailoring the lessons to their specific needs and musical preferences. Starting with the fundamentals and progressing gradually, we will cover a wide range of topics including breath control, pitch accuracy, vocal registers, developing a blended voice, placement of sound, enunciation, and vocal expression. To begin each lesson, we will warm up the voice with various exercises such as sirens, trills, vocalizations, singing scales using solfege syllables, pitch matching, and tongue twisters. Additionally, we will work on a song of the student's choice each week to apply the techniques learned. I have found that students are most motivated to practice when they are singing music that they enjoy! Throughout the class, I will provide personalized feedback and assist students in overcoming any challenges they may encounter with their voice. Drawing from my 20 years of teaching experience, I am familiar with most common issues faced by musicians and possess effective strategies to address them. Furthermore, I believe in fostering a supportive environment by offering generous amounts of positive feedback. Ultimately, my aim is to empower each student to feel at ease and confident while singing their favorite songs. No prior experience is required to embark on one-on-one music lessons; all that is needed is a passion for learning and a willingness to explore the world of music! Please note - Due to possible audio delays, learners who require backing tracks for singing should play them on a separate device. Singing a cappella is also a great option! It would be beneficial to have a song prepared to sing during the first lesson. Cancelations/Refunds - Tuition will hold your learner's specific slot in the schedule from week to week. There will be no refunds for last minute cancelations or no shows. If you do need to cancel for an upcoming week, please do so by editing your learner's meetings as far in advance as possible. If you cancel an upcoming meeting prior to the Sunday before that scheduled lesson, you will not be charged for that week. Thank you for your cooperation.
