Class Experience

Beginner Level
Come to learn and have fun singing with Mrs. Anderson! Class is engaging & age appropriate, while also guiding young singers to work like the pros. We'll practice matching pitch with the piano, learn proper breath support techniques, melody,  how to sing using the three vocal registers (head voice, chest voice, & mix), good singing posture, mouth placement for vowel sounds, and more! Class will be very interactive, and discussion-based. No required experience is needed! 

Week of:

November 11th: Melody | Solfège.
Learn and practice matching pitch with “Do Re Mi” ear training.

November 18th: Vocal Cry | “YOH”
Practice smoothing out your voice with the vocal cry technique.

BREAK NO CLASSES NOVEMBER 25th-29th

December 2nd: Articulators
We’re going to use tongue twisters and music to practice singing as clearly as possible—using our lips, teethe, and tongue.

December 9th: Breath
Let’s learn how to breathe like great singers do. 

December 16th: BONUS
Vocal Confidence | Open Mic | Sing a song for the class! 

BREAK DECEMBER 17th-JANUARY 23rd

January 24th: Breath | Diaphragm.

January 27th: Exaggerated stretch | “OO”
Learn to use your face muscles to help you create smoothe & beautiful sound.

February 3rd: Melody | Solfège.
Learn and practice matching pitch with “Do Re Mi” ear training.

February 10th: Exaggerated Stretch | “OH”
Learn to use your face muscles to help you create smoothe & beautiful sound.

BREAK FEBRUARY 14th-17th

February 24th: Three Vocal Registers
Learn how to sing using your head voice, chest voice, and musical theatre mix!

March 3rd: Exaggerated stretch | “OH” “AAAYYY”
Learn to use your face muscles to help you create smoothe & beautiful sound.

BREAK MARCH 10th-17th

March 21st: Musical Theatre Performance
Learn to use your body, voice, and imagination to “act a song” the way the pros do.

March 24th: Breath
Let’s learn how to breathe like great singers do. 

March 31st: Legatto
Learn how to create smooth & connected sound when you sing.

April 7th: Vocal Cry | “YOO”
Practice smoothing out your voice with the vocal cry technique.

April 14th: BONUS
Vocal Confidence | Open Mic | Sing a song for the class!

Meet the Teacher!

Hello families! I'm Mrs. Anderson, and I teach Theatre for Young Performers, Singing in Virtual Voice Class and Private Voice Lessons! I am a certified Theatre Educator with a BFA in Musical Theatre, and hold 14+ years of experience in the classroom with kids of all ages. I would love to help you meet your goals! My mission is to use what I do best (Teaching, directing, and performing), to do what I love most (Musical Theatre and theatre education!). I'm passionate about coaching young artists to accomplish what they didn't think possible, and leading kids to find their voice, their hidden talents, and self confidence! Let's get nerdy about our favorite movies and musicals, and have fun exploring together on my virtual stage.
