This workshop teaches you how to convey emotion, connect with your audience, and deliver show-stopping performances. ------ In our weekly Broadway singing class, we will cover a wide range of topics related to vocal performance and musical theatre. Here's an overview of what will be taught and how the class is structured: Vocal Techniques: We will focus on developing strong vocal techniques, including breath control, vocal range, projection, and articulation. These fundamental skills are essential for any aspiring Broadway singer. Song Interpretation: You will learn how to interpret and convey the emotions and stories behind the songs. We'll explore character development and how to make each song your own. Musical Theatre Repertoire: Each week, we will dive into the repertoire of a different Broadway musical. This will include learning a song from the musical and understanding its context within the show. Acting and Performance: In addition to vocal training, we will work on acting techniques and stage presence. This will help you deliver a compelling performance that goes beyond just singing the notes. Audition Preparation: If you're interested in pursuing auditions for musical theatre roles, we will provide guidance on audition techniques and selecting appropriate audition songs. Class Structure: The class will be structured as a combination of lectures, interactive activities, and practical exercises. Here's how we'll teach and what to expect: Lectures: We will have informative lectures on v ocal techniques, musical theatre history, and the specific musical of the week. Practical Exercises: You'll have the opportunity to practice singing and acting through individual and group exercises. These may include vocal warm-ups, character exploration, and performance simulations. Song Learning: We'll break down and teach a song from the chosen musical each week, focusing on both the vocal and emotional aspects. Discussion: There will be open discussions where you can ask questions, share insights, and discuss the challenges and successes you've experienced during the class. Interaction: Learners will have plenty of opportunities to interact with both the instructor and fellow participants. This interaction will foster a supportive and collaborative learning environment. Required Experience or Knowledge: Our Broadway singing class is designed for participants of all skill levels. Whether you're a beginner or have some prior experience, you are welcome to join. No specific prior knowledge or experience is required. We believe in tailoring instruction to meet the needs of individual learners, so everyone can benefit and grow in their musical theatre journey.
