Beginner Level
This is a self-paced course so there are no live meetings and all interaction will take place in the Outschool classroom. Every week, a video lesson will be posted here in the Outschool classroom. Students will pause the video several times to go take some photos so your learner may need assistance or you may see them running around finding different things to photograph. Students can share their photos by posting them in the Outschool classroom or taking a video holding up their images. At...

Week 1Lesson 1Find the ColorsLearners will find things of all different colors to photograph.Week 2Lesson 2Find the FoodsIn this lesson, learners photograph foods while reviewing shapes.Week 3Lesson 3Find the AnimalsLearners can photograph toys and/or real animals during this lesson.Week 4Lesson 4Find the ToysThis lesson focuses on toy photography and story-telling.
This class is taught in English.
Students will practice colors, shapes, and storytelling while taking photos of foods and things around their homes. The main goal of this course is for the students to enjoy the art of photography.
I have taught elementary students and ESL students in the past and am excited to combine these skills with photography for younger learners.
Homework Offered
Students might take some more photos to share between watching class videos but most images will be taken while watching our weekly video lessons.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class

Learners will receive feedback on all photos shared in the Outschool classroom.Grades Offered

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Young photographers will need parental support for this course and may want to go outside to take photos. Most learners in this age group will also need assistance uploading photos and posting them in the classroom. An introductory video explains how grown-ups can assist their learners in photography class.
