Welcome to Monster Myths! Love the monsters and creatures in the Hero stories? Want to know more about them? This is the class for you! In this class we will learn about the origins and stories of 17 different monsters and creatures. While this class focuses on the monsters in the myths, most of them face off against heroes at least once. I've been studying and learning about Greek Mythology since I was very young, and I can't wait to pass on that knowledge to the next generation of Myth Lovers.
Learning Goals
Students will learn about a variety of Greek monsters and creatures.

There are several art activities. Most can be completed with paper and drawing utensils.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Sources
Stories of the monsters are pulled from the works of:
Hesiod, Homer, and Virgil, all ancient greek writers.
Students are welcome to share the portrayal of the monsters in more modern adaptations (Like Percy Jackson), but I don't teach from them.
