Welcome to Monster Myths! Love the monsters and creatures in the Hero stories? Want to know more about them? This is the class for you! In this class we will learn about the origins and stories of 17 different monsters and creatures. While this class focuses on the monsters in the myths, most of them face off against heroes at least once. I've been studying and learning about Greek Mythology since I was very young, and I can't wait to pass on that knowledge to the next generation of Myth Lovers.

Syllabus
8 Lessons
over 8 WeeksLesson 1:
Typhon and Echidna
This lesson is all about the monster parents. Typhon and Echidna produced many of the monsters we know, love, and hate. This lesson includes a video and a discussion post. 7 mins of video lessons
Lesson 2:
Graea and Gorgons
This lessons covers the story and relationship between the Graea and the Gorgons (think Medusa!). There are two videos and a Kahoot! Challenge in this lesson. 12 mins of video lessons
Lesson 3:
Chimera and Pegasus
This lesson follows the life and stories of both the Chimera and Pegasus. There are two videos followed by an art challenge for the learners to complete. 5 mins of video lessons
Lesson 4:
Scylla and Charybdis
The lessons is about a pair of potential sister monsters and the heroes who encounter them. There are two videos and a map activity in this lesson. 9 mins of video lessons
Other Details
Parental Guidance
This class does discuss monsters, and the battles they get into with heroes. Most of them do not survive the encounter.
Supply List
There are several art activities. Most can be completed with paper and drawing utensils.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
