US Grade 4 - 6
In this one time class, students will learn several different forms of taking notes. We will discuss how different subjects sometimes work better with certain styles of notes. Students will receive tips and tricks for taking good notes, and how to put those notes to use later. Some of the styles we will discuss are Cornell, Outline, Bullet Points, and Charts. We will also cover additional visuals and diagrams. The last part of class will include a short lecture so that the students can practice one of types of note taking. This class will be offered several times, and students can take it as many times as they would like in order to practice their skills. Based on feedback, I have created a notes guide for you! It is located in the welcome message in the classroom. Bring this with you to class so that you can note all of the great information from the class. This class goes at a fairly fast pace, If you think your learner would benefit from a more in depth practice, check out my other class: "The Notebook: Taking Notes You Can Use!"

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! My name is Miss Izzy and I was definitely born to teach. I have a General Studies degree that covers topics such as teaching and learning, psychology, and humanities. Learning can, and should, be a lot of fun! I am always excited about trying something new, and I love to help others learn new things as well. I, myself, was a very interesting student, and that really helps me to be able to cater to a large variety of learning styles. I am more than happy to accommodate all students to the best of my ability. I believe that learning should be equitable and accessible to every student who has the desire to learn. Let's talk about your learner and how we can work together to meet their needs!
I offer a variety of classes such as Greek Mythology, Beginner Spanish, Reading Tutoring, and School/Life Skills.
I have lived in Guatemala off and on for a little over 9 years, and it taught me so much more about teaching in various ways. I also operate a nonprofit in Guatemala that works in a rural village educating those who do not always have the opportunity to attend school.
Before I started teaching online, I worked for a national literacy non-profit as a Site Coordinator and a tutor. I worked with both elementary students learning to read and helped train the volunteers that came in to tutor them.
I have 2 delightful dogs who love to snuggle with, Sammie and Odyss, and I really am so excited to be your teacher!
