In this one-time course, students will learn simply the science behind climate change. We will discuss the what, the why, and the how: what it is, why it’s happening, and how it is affecting us. We will talk about the natural as well as the manmade causes of climate change. I teach using interactive visuals and an engaging teaching style. I welcome all comments and questions in my classroom, but the conversation will stay centered on science for this topic. This class is meant to be an introduction to climate change for those who have no or little knowledge on the subject. No previous knowledge is required; just curiosity and a desire to learn!

Hello! My name is Mrs. Atkinson and I'm excited to share my passions of science and Japanese with young learners! I recently graduated with a Bachelor's in Biomedical Science and come fresh out of courses such as Biochemistry, Cell & Molecular Biology, Genetics, and Advanced Anatomy & Physiology. I enjoy breaking things down to the basics to help ignite a passion for science in our youth.
In addition, I have studied the Japanese language independently for 8 years and lived in Japan for about 2 years. I have put together a variety of Japanese courses to allow students to experience this beautiful language and culture.
Please let me know if you have any questions as you explore the variety of classes I have to offer! I offer One Time, Multi-Day, Self-Paced (Flexible Schedule), and Semester classes.
