US Grade 6
Welcome to 6th Grade Science Part 2 ! Your child will learn about atomic structure, circuits, and weather. The kids will also learn about storms, tornadoes, and hurricanes and how these storms affect our biosphere. They will also learn about cells, cell theory, and taxonomy. When we begin our study of taxonomy, we will focus on the classifications of animals and plants with a focus on animals and plants in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park because I live near this park, and I have been a volunteer citizen scientist in the park. My teaching style is to ask engaging questions to begin and drive our class discussions. I may use visual graphics such as slide shows and video clips. During some class meetings, we will do hands-on activities. The course syllabus outlines the topics for each class meeting, and a PDF of supplies will be uploaded to the classroom. The kids will be making an interactive science notebook, so they will need supplies for that. A supply list will be available as a PDF in the classroom. ***Get $40 off my class "Homeschool Science with Miss Robyn: 6th Grade Science Part 2" with coupon code ROBYN6PART240 from December 13 until Dec 20, 2024.
