Hello and welcome!

I’m excited to offer music lessons for learners aged 3-18, backed by over 10 years of experience as a dedicated music educator. My goal is to provide a fun and engaging learning environment where every student feels supported and confident in their musical journey.

My Background: I started my musical path in 5th grade as a clarinetist, and over the years, I’ve played a wide range of woodwind, brass, and percussion instruments. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Music with a concentration in Education and Psychology from Alcorn State University, and I’m currently pursuing my Master’s in Music Education at Liberty University. Throughout my academic journey, I’ve been part of numerous ensembles including jazz, symphonic, marching band, and more.

Teaching Experience: Since 2015, I’ve worked with several music organizations that offered creative forms of expression through private, group, and ensemble lessons. I currently teach music at a charter school in California and offer private lessons in woodwind, brass, piano, and vocal performance. My teaching approach ensures that students of all levels can develop at their own pace and feel confident in their progress.

Accomplishments: I’ve had the privilege of helping lead a community marching band that placed in a local Mardi Gras parade in Louisiana in February 2024. As a middle school band director, I also guided my students to achieve superior ratings in a band festival in March 2024. These experiences reflect my commitment to fostering student growth and success.

My Teaching Philosophy: I believe that music is for everyone, and I strive to create a supportive, judgment-free learning space. My approach is centered on moving at the learner’s pace, ensuring that each student feels confident while developing their skills. I keep students engaged with structured lessons that balance fun and focus.

Fun Facts: I love jazz, playing the piano, and discovering new instruments. Outside of music, I enjoy biking and spending time with my cat!

Feel free to message me about class offerings and availability. I look forward to helping your child embark on an exciting musical adventure!
