Because of the internet (Google), the basic skill of using a dictionary has been lost. Students need to know this skill and become familiar with using a dictionary. The teacher will teach how to use the guide words to find words. If a word has multiple meanings, the learner will learn how to select the correct meaning. The learner will also be given the opportunity to choose the correct word in a sentence by using a dictionary. The worksheets will be uploaded before class and discussed together during class.

Hi! I am Karen Evans. I am excited to help you learn!
Teaching has always been my first love and now I am enjoying it during this chapter in my life. I am a semi-retired Director of Human Resources. That career has given me the opportunity to teach classes on Leadership, Confidence, Self Esteem, Careers, Social Injustice and other Life Skills.
As an elementary school substitute teacher for the last 5 years, I can also invest in your child’s reading, writing, spelling and grammar. These fundamental courses are the foundation to your child’s success in life.
I value education and have a Masters Degree in Human Resources and Management and am a adjunct faculty member teaching Human Resource and Management courses at Park University.
I have an easy-going, interactive teaching style that is fun!
