US Grade 4 - 7
This class will help learners who struggle with spelling by reinforcing basic spelling concepts. The class will meet once per week. Each week a spelling concept will be introduced and a worksheet practicing the concept will be completed as a class. The schedule is as follows: Week 1: Digraphs (two consonants pronounced as one sound) Week 2: J and Ch Sounds Week 3: Words with Silent Letters Werk 4: Double Consonants: Week 5: Plurals Week 6: Finding Mistakes /Proofreading Week 7: Tricky Words Week 8: Their, They’re, There Week 9: Finding Mistakes/Proofreading Week 10: Your, You’re Week 11: To, Too, Two Week 12 Spelling Test

A dictionary may be helpful. Paper, pencil. Learners should be able to print worksheets and games.

Hi! I am Karen Evans. I am excited to help you learn!
Teaching has always been my first love and now I am enjoying it during this chapter in my life. I am a semi-retired Director of Human Resources. That career has given me the opportunity to teach classes on Leadership, Confidence, Self Esteem, Careers, Social Injustice and other Life Skills.
As an elementary school substitute teacher for the last 5 years, I can also invest in your child’s reading, writing, spelling and grammar. These fundamental courses are the foundation to your child’s success in life.
I value education and have a Masters Degree in Human Resources and Management and am a adjunct faculty member teaching Human Resource and Management courses at Park University.
I have an easy-going, interactive teaching style that is fun!
I would love to transfer knowledge to your child.
