This (private ongoing) one-on-one tutoring class will be designed to advance your learners' reading skills. This class will teach your child to: -Develop/improve fluency skills -Work on comprehension -Vocabulary -Reading -Writing Classroom structure: -Greeting -Ice breaker game -Flash cards -Reading passage (I read, you read) -Comprehension questions -Discuss Strategies -Review work This class is designed to be flexible and work on your child's needs as necessary. Students will gain a trusted adult to learn from and obtain new skills and ideas to move forward in their academic career.
I have been teaching reading and comprehension skills and strategies for the last six years and I gave several lessons, games and activities to help children build their skills and fall in love with reading.
Homework Offered
practice work will be given and encouraged.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
Each student can be provided with various tools to determine their level in order for the teacher and parents to get a better understanding of level.Grades Offered
I encourage you to let your child read to you once a day! The more practice readers get, the better they become! This can be anything. The cereal box, comic book, article, book, magazine etc.
