US Grade 9 - 12
Welcome to the book club! My love for reading started when I could first pick up a book. I want to share that passion with others and embrace it with young readers as well. My approach to teaching is to develop fun, engaging and memorable experiences for children. We learn better when we have a memorable experience that we can remember even after the class is over. This class is run like a book club. We will read a new book each week and then come together to discuss the book. Book suggestions are welcomed! *Learners who are consistent in class can discuss their plans to read the same book if they choose so they can discuss it when we meet again. Each student will get a chance to share the book they read and their review. Other classmates can engage and ask questions and share opinions as well. This class is flexible and open discussions are welcomed. Students should come to class ready to have fun and should have access to the book and any notes they want to refer to.
Learning Goals
Students will feel more confident in their reading and comprehension skills. They will have a better understanding of reading as a whole and what it means to be a good reader.
