This is an English Reading Book Club for students who are developing their love of reading, writing, thinking and sharing their ideas. This class is aimed at beginner readers to broaden their vocabulary, improve recognition of words, develop phonics and handwriting too. Learners will develop their reading fluency, comprehension skills including knowledge of phonics, vocabulary, guessing meaning of words from context, sharing ideas and developing communication skills. Week Beginning 5/5/25 - Family Poems Week Beginning 12/5/25 - It's The Weather Week Beginning 19/5/25 - Paco's Pet Week Beginning 26/5/25 - My Pet Week Beginning 2/6/25 - Exotic Plant Shop Week Beginning 9/6/25 - Things With Wings Week Beginning 16/6/25 - Big Car Small Car Week Beginning 23/6/25 - Posh Shops Week Beginning 30/6/25 - Big Animal Vet Week Beginning 7/7/25 - Rabbit On The Run Week Beginning 14/7/25 - I Will Get You Week of 21/7/25 - Dens and Nests Week of 28/7/25 - A Present For Mum Week of 4/8/25 - King And Queen Week of 11/8/25 - A Den In The Wood Week of 18/8/25 - Jack Week of 25/8/25 - Quiz Week of 1/9/25 - Dad, Can You Do This? Week of 22/9/25 - Diggers Week of 29/9/25 - A Dog's Day Week of 6/10/25 - Ant And The Baby Week of 13/10/25 - The Ox And The Yak Learners will be encouraged to move to Level 3 after completing these books. We will return to the beginning and repeat these books when we have completed all of them. Each week will include vocabulary, comprehension and input. Learners will be encouraged to share their ideas in a variety of ways in class. Parental Guidance
Please note, this is an English language class. This is not a 'read along' class. Our own teaching materials are used to teach learners during this course. The focus of the classes is to develop language including, phonics, vocabulary, grammar, comprehension, fluency and writing skills.
Supply List
Learners will need a notebook, pencil and crayons for each class. The books are required for this class. Students may use e-books, hardcopy and paperbacks, or audiobooks to read and comprehend the text.
