Class Experience

US Grade 7 - 9
Hey y’all, Welcome all learners! I am so glad you stumbled upon my page and hope to see your smiling face soon!

A quick insight, this is an ONGOING course, we will meet THREE times a week, meant to cover the foundations of pre-algebra according to common state standards throughout the summer break !

This is a great opportunity to get a jump start on 8th grade foundational skills. Anyone is welcome to join, you can stay for a few days, weeks or the entire curriculum or can hop in and out at anytime. if you do decide to join for a certain topic, in that case it is expected that there is prior knowledge or have received some sort of instruction related to the topic.

My lessons are all similarly structured starting with the AGENDA at the very beginning of class, a quick WARM-UP meant to spiral back from the previous meeting, then I will use the (I do, we do, you do) teaching approach for the mini-lesson, followed by the closure, which will consist of an EXIT TICKET where I can get instant feedback on students level of mastery on the topic.

I will provide NOTES for students to print out if they wish to do so to follow along with the lesson.
There will be NO HOMEWORK as students are expected to do practice while in the meeting.
This is not a graded class but if you want additional practice I can provide it.

My Goal is for every student to feel SUCCESSFUL and CONFIDENT in Math with a teacher that allows them to make mistakes and learn from them.

Note: Students taking this course must have a graphing calculator, as they will use it in the regular classroom

Please Note: if you decide to join after the starting date (first meeting), and looking to stay around for the full curriculum but might have missed some meetings, it will be your responsibility to catch up on the topics missed. Feel free to reach out and join my private 1 on 1 meetings and I can help you catch up to be on the same page as the class.
