Class Experience

Students will login to Zoom using a tablet, desktop computer, or laptop. Students will learn how to care for their dog. Knowledge about dog breeds, feeding based on weight, grooming, scheduling, dog health, and basic training will grow. Young dog owners will feel empowered and parents will feel a sense of relief in seeing they don't have to be the one who cares for the dog. With the right information, a child can be a competent dog owner with little or no help from their parent.
During our Zoom class, I will present a multi-media presentation on topics mentioned using Google Slides, YouTube videos, and photos/diagrams). There will be brief interactive periods throughout the class time to maintain attention. At the end of the class (the last 15 minutes or so) I will open up the classroom for free sharing, questions, and answers.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I bred Dachshunds for a handful of years before volunteering at the Maricopa County Humane Society as an adoption counselor. As an adoption counselor, I helped families choose a dog and educate them about pet ownership. I'm currently a dog walker and sitter with Rover.com. I have experience whelping, raising, and training dogs. I have dog sat for many different breeds and have studied dog breeds and their temperaments on my own time. I am an elementary school teacher with experience teaching kids from ages 7-12.
