Kitten and Cat Training Camp: Is Animal Training Just for Dogs?

Can we train kittens not to jump on the table or scratch the couch? Explore animal behavior and techniques for training cats. Students can bring their pets or stuffed animals to class as well as meet Professor Patrick the Cat.

Class Experience

US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - 1
Let's have fun exploring many techniques to cat training in this exciting camp!  We will have lively discussions about animal behavior in order to understand how we can teach our pet cats.  Learners are encouraged to bring their cats, kittens, or stuffed animals for show & tell.  My cat, Professor Patrick, will make guest appearances as well.

At the end of each day's interactive activities, learners will color a picture of a cat.  Students will complete each class by sharing their artsy pictures.

The cat training topics will be different at each session.  These are the cat behaviors and training techniques that we will learn about:

Camp Day 1:
Introductions & Cat/Kitten/Stuffed Animal Show and Tell
Topic: Food, Treats & Water: Can I give treats to my cat to help with training?

Camp Day 2:
Topic: Jumping & Climbing: How can I train my cat not to jump on the dining room table?

Camp Day 3:
Topic: Cat Communication: Meows, Purrs, Hisses - What is my cat trying to tell me?

Camp Day 4: 
Topic: Scratching: How do I train my cat not to scratch the furniture?
