Students will learn the basic training techniques to potty train a puppy or dog in twenty one days.
Dogs are unpredictable and may not always be trained in the same amounts of time as other dogs. Teacher is a Certified Dog Trainer, CDC-C, an AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Evaluator and tester observer with Alliance of Therapy Dogs and has trained and certified five therapy dogs of her own.
Learners will spend time taking their puppy or dog out for pottying every 2 to 3 hours. This can take 10 or 15 minutes each time they are taking out their dog. Amount of time depends upon how long it takes puppy to potty or how often other family members are available to take out the puppy.
Learners will need a puppy or dog, treats, stain and odor carpet or floor cleaner. Optional: Crate, puppy pads or newspaper, dog leash, puppy gate and bell.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Student will be assessed in class by checking for understanding. A successfully trained puppy that has few potty accidents is the outcome for this class after up to 21 days. If the puppy is continuing to have accidents, then we will assess and problem solve training issues.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Puppies or dogs may take different lengths of time to potty train. Learners need to be patient in training their puppies. Learner does not need to have puppy or dog present at time of class.
