In three half hour sessions, learner will receive instruction and coaching in preparation for an audition. Learner will receive help choosing a monologue if desired. Most of the instruction time will be devoted to the learner practicing their monologue and receiving tips for improvement. Projection, proper rate of speech, proper posture, and proper inflection will be highlighted and modeled. The class atmosphere will be relaxed and all tips for improvement will be put forth in a positive and encouraging manner. The goal of the class is for the learner to become comfortable with the process of audtioning and to have fun performing! The three sessions will be formatted roughly as follows: Day One: Choose monologue (if not chosen yet). Practice focus will be on speech rate and projection. Day Two: Practice focus will be on proper inflection and proper speech rate. We will work on memorization. Day Three: Practice focus will include proper posture, facial expressions and body language. We will continue to work on memorization.
