This camp is designed for kids who have little or no experience acting. It will be a non-threatening, non-competitive environment in which to learn about and explore some fundamentals of acting and theater. On days 1-3, each day will focus on a different acting skill. On day 4, each learner will get to practice their new skills by perfoming a 1 minute monologue of their choice. These do not need to be memorized. A few monologue choices will be attached to the class, but learners are free to write their own or find a different one they would like to perform. Class Outline: Day One: Introduction/What makes a good actor? Acting Skill: Observation Day Two: Acting Skill: Body Movement/Pantomime Day Three: Acting Skill: Voice/Projection Day Four: Perform Monologues Each day will include discussion time and different drama games designed to highlight the acting skill being taught.

Hello! My name is Lydia, and I love teaching! I have taught public school, private school, daycare, and home school co-op classes to learners of a wide variety of ages. While I have taught all different kinds of subjects, my favorite subjects are literature and drama (and juggling, if that can be considered a subject!) I enjoy acting in my local community theater.
I know that people learn in a variety of ways. I try to be attentive to my students and adapt my teaching style to suit their needs. I like to have fun while learning!
I live in the beautiful mountains of East Tennesee with my husband and two daughters. My daughters and I really enjoy all the wildlife we get to see.
