Homework
1-2 hours per week. Students will be expected to work on whatever we go over in the lesson. Progression and preparedness for their audition will be dependent upon the amount of work and practice they put into it. Students may need to print out sheet music, mark their music, download & practice with accompaniment tracks, memorize their song selection & their monologue, and rehearse their audition as much as possible. Students may spend anywhere from 30 mins to an hour or more per day prior to the audition or performance they're preparing for. The amount of time spent will be dependent upon the student's goals, age, and abilities.Class Experience
You may schedule this one-on-one coaching & prep class for one day, multiple days, or as a weekly class. This is a 45 minute class for students who need help getting prepared for a musical theater audition. Whether it's a live audition or a video submission, this private lesson will help you with everything you need for a successful audition. You may also choose this class if you need short-term help preparing for a performance. Students choosing this class will have varying needs when it comes to audition preparation. Each class will be tailored specifically to the individual student. Once a student is enrolled, they may message the teacher to ask for specific help or wait until the lesson time to discuss the specific help needed. If a student is a beginner and/or has a lot of material to get prepared, it may take additional half-hour lessons to get that student ready for the audition or performance. The Private Audition Coaching -30 minute class may be scheduled and booked multiple times in a week if needed after doing this hour long session. Here are some of the things that Ms. Amanda can help with: song selection, cutting the song to a 16 Bar or 32 Bar audition cut, providing or helping you get a piano ready, audition cut sheet music, providing an edited accompaniment track or karaoke for the song selection, helping students find a monologue, acting coaching for the monologue or sides, performance and vocal coaching for the song, how to do an effective video submission, help with slating, resume, headshot, and understanding the student's specific audition requirements. Each lesson will be tailored specifically to each student according to what they need. For most students, one 30 minute class will not be sufficient to fully prepare for an audition. Most students will need to work for this hour lesson and add one or two more 30-minutes sessions to be ready. some advanced students may only need the one hour-long session. Getting professional assistance with audition prep, acting, and vocal performance will not guarantee that you will get the part you want. Many factors influence casting decisions including some that a performer has no control over. However, coaching and audition prep will give you the confidence you need and ensure that you are as prepared and professional as you can be. That will go a long way in leaving your director or audience with a positive impression of your abilities, energy, and dedication.
Learning Goals
Students will improve their stage presence, vocal & emotional expression, gain confidence, strengthen their acting skills and learn how to create a compelling performance whether on stage or in an audition situation. Students will learn how to act their song and bring it to life, improve their acting abilities, and what to expect in a musical theater audition.

Supply List
1. Students must have reliable, strong internet connectivity so that the sound is steady and clear. 2. In addition to the computer or device they are using for the Zoom lesson, students will need to have some kind of separate device like a tablet or phone or a Bluetooth speaker to play tracks for their songs. 3. Students may also need to print out sheet music. Most often, PDFs of sheet music can be uploaded to the classroom page at no cost, however, some sheet music and/or tracks may need to be purchased and/or downloaded online. The teacher will always do her best to keep those costs extremely low by sharing from her own library of music when possible.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Sources
Every effort will be made to provide free sheet music and monologues to the student by uploading them to the Outschool classroom or giving them links to trusted websites to look for them. However, if a student wishes to do a song that is not in the teacher's database, students may need to purchase digital sheet music from musicnotes.com or SheetMusicDirect.com. Some accompaniment tracks may come from YouTube.
