In this class we will learn all about the myth of the phoenix/firebird. We will begin class with a story about the phoenix followed by a step by step tutorial showing the children how to paint their own phoenix on canvas.
Class experience
In this class we will be exploring myths and legends by learning about the magical phoenix. The phoenix is a popular myth in Greek, Roman and Egyptian mythology. We will begin class with a brief story time about the legend of the phoenix. After story time we will take the remainder of class to paint our own phoenix on canvas with acrylic paint. Students will learn about the mythical phoenix, while also learning beginner techniques for acrylic painting.
I have a BA in Fine Arts from Otis College of Art and Design. I am currently working as an art instructor, freelance artist and designer.
Items needed for class: 8x10 Canvas Acrylic paint colors: Yellow, Orange, Black 1 Medium sized paint brush 1 Small paint brush (optional) Glass of water Paper Plate Paper towels
