US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - 2
In this one-time class students will learn a multisensory approach to adding one-digit numbers. By engaging all the senses (see, hear, say, touch) students easily make the connection between the numeral and the quantity it represents. We will start the class by learning to touch and count Circles on numerals 1-9. These visual cues help develop left/right directionality, reduce number reversals, and increase place value understanding. After we have learned the touch/counting patterns, we will practice using this strategy to add one-digit numbers. You will be amazed how easy addition can be! Perfect for visual learners, children with Autism, and other learning disabilities.

Students will improve their number sense and computation skills by learning a multisensory math method that eliminates guessing and helps develop math comprehension and memorization.Other Details

Students will need a white board and marker or pencil and paper for the class.

Hello!
I am currently a Special Education teacher at an elementary school, and I have been teaching for ten years now. I have a Master's degree in Special Education and a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. I specialize in providing targeted small group reading and math classes for students with learning disabilities (such as Dyslexia) and attention deficits (such as ADHD).
My educational philosophy is that every child learns differently and at a different pace and that's Ok. I make my lessons engaging, fast-paced, and multi-sensory. A lot of the strategies and tools I teach are beneficial for ALL learners regardless of their ability level. I want every student to feel successful in my classes and have fun!
When I'm not teaching, I enjoy traveling, hiking, playing volleyball, and my new hobby is learning to play the guitar. I am so excited to have the opportunity to help your child learn and grow. I can't wait to meet you!
