In this class, we will be starting each session with a 5 minute exercise to warm up. Exercises will include simple things such as jumping jacks, squats, push-ups and sit-ups. No one will be asked to do anything that will be too difficult or strenuous. We will then start with basic stances and why we do them. Day 1: Basic stances, how to properly throw a punch/kick, and begin our basic blocks Day 2: Review our basic blocks, and stances, then learn how to throw different strikes such as knees, elbows, kicks, and different types of hand strikes Day 3: Review strikes learned in previous week, and begin learning how to put them together with body motion and flow. Day 4: Review strikes and combinations learned in previous week and move on to how to defend when grabbed in certain ways such as, Front choke, back choke, head lock, etc. Day 5: Review grab defenses learned in previous week and go into more advanced versions of headlocks, chokes, and then learn different grab defenses such as, when somebody grabs you from behind in a body lock, what to do if being tackled, etc. Day 6: Review as much from all previous weeks as possible and end by putting some of these moves together into a kata which is a "formal exercise" meaning that it is a way of practicing realistic scenarios without the help of a partner.
Learning Goals
Goals of this course would be to have fun and learn all of the white belt skills being taught to be able to move on to our yellow belt class.
Other Details
Parental Guidance
Parental guidance is suggested but not mandatory. Some of the skills we will learn may cause a student to lose balance and we would like to ensure the safety of all of our students. Please make sure you have an open space to move around in and a water bottle to stay hydrated. A soft floor is recommended as there will be ground fighting positions, push-ups, and sit-ups.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
