Description
Class Experience
In this class, students will work with the Cricut Design Space, and create new and fun projects! The projects presented in these flex lessons are designed for beginners who are learning how to use the program, and different attachments for projects. For four weeks, I will demonstrate how to create projects that will range from the following: -Fun and colorful labels for cups, binders, house projects, etc. - Iron-on projects for book bags, pillows, and shirts - Cards for any occasion -Metal...
I have been a teacher for 10 years, working with students as young as pre-school and through college, and have been a home business owner for 3 years. I have used the Cricut for many different items in my shop, along with personal daily uses, and even in my classroom. I love teaching friends and family how to make new items, along with sharing my designs with others. I teach simplistically to optimize learning in an explained step-by-step approach so users can follow along and complete the tasks with me.
Students will complete projects independently during the week, and share images to the classroom page under the weekly video post. Homework time may vary depending on complexity of project (students will be shown how to complete a project, but the design is theirs so they may create something meaningful to them).
Basic Requirements: Cricut Machine (I will be modeling with the Cricut Air 2) Standard grip/light grip mats (standard grip will be used for many projects, light grip is optional for cardstock but not necessary) Weeding Tools Iron/Cricut Press Project Requirements: Iron On Vinyl (type will depend on project student selects) Vinyl Heat Press Mat Transfer Paper (cricut paper is good, but I use Silhoutte for easier transfer) Cardstock (variety for cards and envelope), Engraving attachment (does not have to be Cricut model) Aluminum metal for engraving (dog tags, pet tags, jewelry pieces) Tape for metal to mat More may be needed as seen in videos or as students design projects.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
No live meetings, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
Students will be in Design Space, and will be using a Cricut. I will review safety tips, but please be sure to be nearby during projects, or explain safety with your child. In addition, in-app purchases are possible in Design Space. Please have your account not set up to purchase without a credit card, or be with your child during design to prevent in-app purchases.
