Class Experience

Overall, students will learn to identify what makes a publishable piece of writing. This class also will help students learn the steps to brainstorm ideas, organize, and articulate their thoughts to begin a draft.
No sensitive material will be presented. Working with writers is my passion and I love to share in the creative writing process. I am a writer, editor, and essayist, whose essays have appeared in many regional and national newspapers, magazines, and websites, like The Philadelphia Inquirer, Shape magazine, Grown&Flown, The Huffington Post and many more. My professional/medical writing has appeared in many national publications and websites.
In the materials section below, you can find everything that you will need for this class. Optional: Bring a piece of writing to class. Pen/pencil Notebook
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Students will be informally assessed. Throughout class students will participate and provide suggestions to develop each other’s writing.
35 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
