Mastering the Essay: Learn to Write and Edit Essays with Confidence

This personalized essay writing and editing course is designed for high school students who need extra support outside of class to strengthen their essay writing skills. 

Whether you're working on an argumentative essay or literary essay for school, or a personal essay for your college application or a summer program, this course will help you refine your ideas, develop a strong thesis, organize the structure your argument, and edit your work for clarity and impact.

This class is fully tailored to your learning needs—I work with the assignment you’ve been given by your teacher or the application prompt you’re responding to and together, we will break down your essay step by step, ensuring your ideas are well-organized, your argument is clear, and your writing is strong and in your voice. 

You can expect a fun and judgment-free zone where you’ll receive live, detailed feedback on your work, lots of encouragement, and the tools you need to become a more confident writer. I ask guiding questions to help you refine your arguments in your own words and develop your unique writing voice. Through conversation-based sessions and live feedback on your writing, you’ll gain the skills to write clearly, persuasively, and effectively for any academic or personal essay.

 As someone who has previously struggled with and not enjoyed writing essays, I developed this one-on-one course specifically to help share the tools and skills I have learned over many years of writing essays and supporting my students write theirs! Together, we'll build your confidence with the writing process and have fun creating something that you are proud of. 

In order to gain the most out of our sessions, please ensure you bring your essay instructions or prompt with you (including word limit and essay guidelines such as line spacing and required font [if required]), your essay ideas or preliminary thesis ideas, and any outlines or drafts that you have already written.
