Students should read all recipes ahead of time. I have students work with mise en place having their ingredients prepped and ready to go before they begin.
Students will need a cheesecloth and a Slow Cooker or Instant Pot with slow cooker capability for our Chai Tea. A week before class begins a supply list will be provided. Instructions for our class will be provided a few days before class for students to review. Students will use common household items. Mixers and Food Processors are helpful but not necessary.
No live meetings, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
• Students should be comfortable using a knife and a stove/oven and a slow cooker. They should also prepare their workspace ahead of time, making sure it is clean for hygienic purposes. • Parental supervision is essential for safety. Teacher uses Canva and Kahoot to teach but students will not need to create their own account. Students will be given a link for a Kahoot Quiz to end our class time. I use Canva for my videos. Each week in our classroom you will be given a link that will take you directly to my power points and/or Videos. The time I post my videos varies depending on my schedule. All videos will be posted on our class day. ALLERGY STATEMENT: Ingredients for recipes may include common allergens such as Dairy, Eggs, Fish, Shellfish, Tree Nuts, Peanuts, Wheat & Soy. If the learner has dietary restrictions, please contact the instructor so she may be able to suggest ways to adapt the recipe, typically by substitution, or omission of the allergen. (Requires at least 72 hours' notice.) Not all recipes can be adapted. Instructor does not have the ability to ensure that the items you purchase will be completely free of allergens. It's up to the adults responsible for each learner to ensure that products brought into the learners' kitchens are allergen-free.
All recipes will be given out in a Word format document.
