Students will learn about quarter, half, dotted half, and whole notes, what they look like and how many beats they get and how they are used in different time signatures (4/4 and 3/4). The teacher and students will work as a team to make up rhythms and practice tapping, clapping, snapping, or stomping the rhythms at different tempos (speeds). This one time class does not have any homework or require any special materials or prior music knowledge. Students will not need an instrument, but are welcome to have one to play the rhythms on.
