US Grade 4 - 7
**This is a self-paced class. There will be NO video Zoom meetings.** This exciting, popular class is estimated to take 4 weeks. During this class, students will learn about the fascinating and under-rated island nation of Iceland! I will post videos, which students can watch on their own time. Each week will feature a different topic. We will explore the geology of the island, and discover why Iceland is called "The Land of Fire and Ice." We will spend some time exploring sustainable energy in Iceland and find out why Iceland is famous for renewable energy. Students will learn about the inhabitants of Iceland; people and animals, and how they live. Visiting Iceland as a tourist is an experience like nonother. Students will learn that Iceland can be an enjoyable vacation throughout the year. Teacher will respond to students in the classroom within 24-48 hours, for the first 4 weeks.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! My name is Christine and I am a Colorado native. I have two awesome sons, who are 11 and 21. I love to travel, explore, learn and teach about nature! I have been to all 50 US states, about 22 countries and I can't wait to finally get to see the rest of the world!!
I have an Associate of Science, in geology, and a Bachelors in geography and environmental studies from the University of Colorado.
I have taught science, in a variety of settings, over the past 18 years. During that time, I also worked as a tour guide at a local commercial cave! Geology rocks isn't just a catchy pun, it's a passion! I teach a variety of geography and geology-related classes. My classes combine lots of interaction with hands-on learning. I find that most people retain more information through doing something than just reading about it.
