In this once-weekly ongoing class, students will learn all about all 63 of the national parks in the United States! Each day will feature 2 different parks, going in alphabetical order. The focus will be on the special geologic features, history and nature of each park. Students will also have the opportunity to share their experiences at the park we discuss each day! They are welcome to share photos/stories, if they want. We will end each class with some games to review what we just discussed & learned! Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! My name is Christine and I am a Colorado native. I have two awesome sons, who are 11 and 21. I love to travel, explore, learn and teach about nature! I have been to all 50 US states, about 22 countries and I can't wait to finally get to see the rest of the world!!
I have an Associate of Science, in geology, and a Bachelors in geography and environmental studies from the University of Colorado.
I have taught science, in a variety of settings, over the past 18 years. During that time, I also worked as a tour guide at a local commercial cave! Geology rocks isn't just a catchy pun, it's a passion! I teach a variety of geography and geology-related classes. My classes combine lots of interaction with hands-on learning. I find that most people retain more information through doing something than just reading about it.
