US Grade 5 - 8
This is similar to my US Geography: States and Capitals class, but this time we're going international! Have you heard of the Eiffel Tower? Would you like to visit the 5,000-year-old Great Pyramids? Do you want to know more about the world around you? To learn more about these places and more, join me as we travel virtually to dozens of countries around the world, learning their capital, major landmarks and more! Each of the first 5 meetings will feature a different continent/region. Our 6th and final meeting will be a review of everything we have learned over the previous 5 meetings. Let's have some fun learning about our world!
Learning Goals
By the end of this 6-week class, students will be able to name the capital city of dozens of countries throughout the world, as well as popular landmarks.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! My name is Christine and I am a Colorado native. I have two awesome sons, who are 11 and 21. I love to travel, explore, learn and teach about nature! I have been to all 50 US states, about 22 countries and I can't wait to finally get to see the rest of the world!!
I have an Associate of Science, in geology, and a Bachelors in geography and environmental studies from the University of Colorado.
I have taught science, in a variety of settings, over the past 18 years. During that time, I also worked as a tour guide at a local commercial cave! Geology rocks isn't just a catchy pun, it's a passion! I teach a variety of geography and geology-related classes. My classes combine lots of interaction with hands-on learning. I find that most people retain more information through doing something than just reading about it.
