In this course, students will develop their essay writing skills by learning how to form foundational essays. Students will learn the structure of the introduction, the body paragraphs, and the conclusion. Students will learn how to: form one sentence thesis statements how to create strong topic sentences that directly relate to the thesis how to create well-developed proper body paragraphs how to write transitional sentences how to structure the conclusion, so it properly "wraps" up the entire essay. During the live lesson, students will see an example of a five-paragraph essay, and they will create their own "essay" while following along with me. They will pick a topic from a list of chosen prompts. I will first walk them through a strong intro and thesis. They will then create their own. Then, I will walk them through forming well-developed body paragraphs that clearly support the thesis. They will write one body paragraph afterwards. We will do our best to write all five paragraphs in the allotted time. Then, I will walk them through writing the conclusion. After the session, students will be much better prepared on how to form any essay of any length by learning how to create the foundational essay.
