This advanced essay writing course is designed to refine students' essay-writing skills, with a focus on developing sophisticated claims, constructing solid arguments, enhancing stylistic techniques, and mastering advanced organizational structures. We will examine examples and engage in practical exercises to master the art of writing and argumentation. The first session will concentrate on creating strong thesis statements and developing a robust claim. The second session will emphasize advanced organizational structures. On the third day, we will work on constructing strong supporting arguments based on solid evidence and sophisticated ideas. In the final class, we will master the revision process to polish our essays through refining our writing style and developing a distinctive voice. The class will be interactive, with discussions and activities designed to apply the skills we are learning. Outside of class, students will have the opportunity to complete and submit assignments daily, applying the skills we are studying for additional feedback. This course is designed for those with some experience in writing, aiming to elevate their skills to a more advanced level. We will cover all the essential techniques needed for sophisticated essay writing.
