Intermediate Level
In this class, students will be challenged to write typical college level writing tasks. These will include summary writing, a self-reflection, an informative essay, and a research essay. Classes will meet live once a week (Monday). The first day of the week will go over the writing task, the requirements, the writing goals, and students will begin drafting an outline of their writing if time allows during the class session. Students will submit a copy of their writing piece by Wednesday of the first week, and they will receive extensive feedback from me that will significantly improve their writing skills and their writing piece. All students will receive extensive feedback by Friday evening. Students will then use that feedback to make meaningful change to their writing. They will submit their final drafts by Sunday evening. In the second week for each writing piece, students will meet to discuss any challenges and to reflect on the writing task, and they will have writing skills practice to further enhance their writing.
