In this three-week course, students will learn six different tools and techniques to manage their time, to reduce stress/workload, and to work more efficiently yet effectively. Want to study less but to study better? Want to work in less time but of higher quality? Want to reduce procrastination in ways that work and focus on the core issues that promote procrastination? This course will teach all of that! In week one, students will learn about the Pomodoro Technique and of Setting Specific Task-Based goals to help them work more efficiently while also reducing their stress. These techniques will help students focus on what they are working on during their study sessions rather than feeling unsure of what to do. In week two, students will learn what types of subjects to work on and to study first, and they will learn about the 5-minute method to reduce stress and procrastination. In week three, students will learn about the Urgency Matrix and a variety of tangible calendars/ways to manage their work to be better accountable for their learning, to manage their workload, to know what to work on first and what can be put off, and to ensure all work gets completed in a timely manner.

Students will learn about the best way to manage their time and stress. They will also how to maintain their focus and concentration during their work and study sessions.

Students will learn about how to reduce procrastination and how to increase motivation to ensure all work gets done in a timely manner.

Tangible Tools for Homework Management
Students will learn about four different types of tangible tools to help them better understand what courses to work on first and what assignments can be put off, and they will learn how to manage their time efficiently.

Dr. Schmidt has a bachelor's degree in Elementary and Middle School Education, a master's degree in reading, a PhD in Language and Literacy, and an Alternative Education certificate. She has taught developmental education to college freshmen for 14 years. She teaches her students these time management strategies, and her students LOVE them!
