Class Experience

In this hands on technology class, students will be taught how to create a fantastic google slide presentation. Students will also be able to present their slides in the second class. Specifically, the topics I will cover will be how to create a theme for the slide show, how to choose a layout, add slides and backgrounds, change fonts, and add images from the computer or the web. Additionally, students will learn how to create text boxes, add shapes and lines, fill color, change the text color, and use fun transitions between slides. Students will also learn how to move slides around in the presentation, ANIMATIONS, insert videos and links, and drag images to fit the slides to add "POP" to the project.
The class will be structured in a manner in which I will create my own google slide presentation and review each of the parts mentioned above. I highly encourage my students to ask questions and participate aloud. My teaching style is fun and energetic. I want communication with my students so I can monitor their understanding of the topic and answer any questions as needed.
Learners will interact with me during the entire class as well with one another.

Class 1- Learn the icons and features of a google slide presentation and learn how to create one in class.
Class 2- Students will present the google slide presentations they created at home with the class. If time remains, we will create another one on a given topic in class.

No required knowledge of experience is required.

Other Details

Parental Guidance
Students will need access to a google email to create google slides. Age restrictions require students to be 13 years old or older. If your child is younger than 13, a parent Gmail or email can be used for this activity. If needed, I will handle sensitive topics, non-secular material, and bias from learners in a respectful manner, through content-rich discussions.
Supply List
Students will need an extra computer, laptop, or device to use to create the google slides while using zoom on the original device. Therefore they can watch and participate in class on one device and practice/create the slide show on the other simultaneously. If an iPad is used, students will need to download the Google Slides app prior to class. Students will also need a google account or email to access the slides.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
