Description
Class Experience
Pop some popcorn and come to class with a great book! Snuggle up while students participate in a book discussion and review. Students will read a novel on their own and come to class prepared to discuss the book. During the first two class meetings using the socratic circle method will be used. That means students will lead the discussion by asking and answering each other's questions, facilitated by me. Prior to class, students will write two open ended questions (no yes or no questions)...
Students will read the book at home and prepare two open ended questions about the book to ask the class. Question writing should take 5-10 minutes at most. Students will read on their own-pace and time is dependent on each student.
2 hours per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
