Writing can get really fun when you can play with language. That's right. We are going to play with language and create pieces that are exploding with similes and metaphors galore! We will begin by looking at a few examples of figurative language from similes to personification. Next, students will be pick a character and a setting which they will describe using figurative language. Afterwards, students will briefly brainstorm through jotting down other characteristics of their characters. Finally, students will be able to begin writing their stories. They will also have a chance to share with other students as well. Students will be encouraged to share what they like about the other pieces!
