☘️ Welcome to the writing class! All students are welcome whether your learner simply enjoys writing, or they are looking for a unique approach to boost their writing skills! ☘️ Students will explore a range of topics and I will use presentations, videos, interactive tools, and visuals for student engagement. The primary focus is on Fictional Writing, however, I do sprinkle in Personal Narrative as it complements fictional writing nicely. ☘️ Each week learners will learn how to brainstorm and organize their ideas or information chronologically. Students will be asked to write a story based on a writing prompt, and once a month they will have a chance to explore their ideas as well. ☘️, After brainstorming, they will write a paragraph. I will also reinforce, sentence fluency, word choice, story structure, etc through some writing activities ranging from collaborative writing to individual writing. ☘️ Students will also have some take-home activities as well! Students are encouraged to hand in their writing which I will assess from Monday to Thursday. I ask that students do their best to edit using the writing checklist I provided in the welcome post. ☘️ Please note that even if this is a drop-in class, students will learn all the different facets of required for them to become excellent writers Here is the current tentative schedule.
