Handwriting Helpers Boot Camp

Beginner Level
During this 2 week class, students will learn how to write each letter of the American English alphabet, both capital and lowercase. We will work on letter formation and spacing. We will then go on to use those letters in words. Each lesson will include a demonstration as well as time to practice. Students will be required to spend time between classes practicing what they have learned to help them form the letters correctly. The main focus of this class will be the mechanics of printing...
Lesson 1: We will work on the letters i, l, h, r, t, I, L, R, and H Lesson 2: We will work on the letters k, b, d, p, q, K, B, D, P, and review the previously learned letters Lesson 3: We will work on the letters c, a, o, g, j, C, A, O, J and review the previously learned letters Lesson 4: We will work on the letters n, m, u, v, w, N, M, V and review the previously learned letters Lesson 5: We will work on the letters e, f, s, x, y, E, S, X, Y and review the previously learned letters Lesson 6: We will work on the letters T, Q, G, Z, F, U, W and review the previously learned letters Lesson 7: We will use the letters to form words. Lesson 8: We will use the letters to form sentences. Students will practice writing pangrams, which are sentences that use all of the letters of the alphabet.
I have been an educator for over 33 years. During this time, I have taught all academic areas including Handwriting, Cursive Writing, Art, and STEAM for grades K-5.
Homework Offered
Practice sheets will be shared upon request.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
The students will be assessed informally based on the formation of the letters we are working on for the week. The informal assessments will be used to create the word lists that will be practiced in the later lessons as well as guide the instruction during each class.Grades Offered
Support and feedback are individualized to meet the learner's needs. This includes using the materials that the learner can use as well as breaking the formation of each letter down into smaller steps.
The learner should be able to hold a pencil.
