Class Experience
US Grade 5 - 8
Each week learners will cover a range of geometry topics. Each week we will explore up to 5 topics through exercises, games, puzzles, quizzes and activities and as we identify the areas for improvement I will plan for subsequent weeks to cover the areas needing attention the most for all learners. Week 1: 2D shapes, facts and areas and perimeters of shapes Week 2: 3D shapes, facts and volume/surface area of shapes, plans and elevations Week 3: Angle facts, polygons, Pythagorean Theorem Week...
- Students will improve their accuracy, speed and confidence as we work on algebra in general, for help with homework to prepare for a test or to boost all-round confidence. Topics will include: Angle facts Angles in triangles and polygons Area of shapes Circle Area, Circumference and Parts Congruence Transformation of Shapes (Reflection, Rotation, Translation and Enlargement) Plans & Elevations Pythagoras' Theorem Scales and Maps Shape Facts Surface Area Symmetry Unit Conversion Volume

Frequency: includedFeedback: includedDetails: Optional homework offered will be either in the form of a worksheet of questions appropriate to the learner or a quiz.
Occasionally pupils may be asked to bring along equipment such as a calculator, pencils, crayons, a ruler, or items to count out or measure, such as dried food items or leaves. Parents will be notified well in advance of this and should it be difficult to source an item in time, a contingency plan will be made to provide for the learner ensuring inclusion and no singling out occurs. Pupils may benefit from a mini whiteboard and markers to share their ideas with others and myself in class.
