What's included
30 live meetings
27 hrs 30 mins in-class hoursHomework
2-4 hours per week. Homework is assigned after each meeting. Students learn best when they have an opportunity to practice the skills and concepts learned in class. I provide feedback on homework turned in by the time it is due. I also post the answers to the homework in the classroom. Students are expected to read my feedback, check their work, make corrections when necessary, and ask questions in class.Assessment
Students have the option to take tests through out the 15-week course. Tests are completely optional. Please let me know if you would like your learner to take tests, and I will provide them for you.Class Experience
US Grade 9 - 12
This fifteen week online Geometry course will fulfill the second semester of a high school Geometry. *** A student need NOT have taken High School Geometry A in order to successfully complete High School Geometry B. *** We meet twice a week. **Note that this section has three extra meetings scheduled. We will only meet 30 times. The extra three meeting are scheduled in case I need to take a day off due to illness. When we meet, I will teach new material and review previous material. Students are encouraged to actively participate with via various methods, even anonymously if they are shy. I am available to students during the week to help with any questions they have. The students will learn to: Identify similar triangles Find the sine, cosine, and tangent of angles. Use trigonometric ratios to find side lengths in right triangles. Use inverse trigonometric ratios to find angle measures in right triangles Solve problems involving angles of elevation and angles of depression Use the Law of Sines and the Law of Cosines to find side lengths and angle measures in any triangle Reflect, translate, rotate, and dilate figures in the coordinate plane Identify line, point, and rotational symmetry Identify parts of a circle Find area and circumference of circles Find the central angles, arc lengths, and area of sectors Write equations of circles and graph circles in the coordinate plane Use the formulas for area and perimeter of triangles, quadrilaterals, regular polygons, and composite figures in space and in a coordinate plane Classify three-dimensional figures according to their properties and nets Use the formulas for lateral area and surface area of prisms, cylinders, pyramids, cones, and spheres Use the formulas for volume of prisms, cylinders, pyramids, cones, and spheres Describe the effect on perimeter and area when one or more of the dimensions of a figure are changed This course is a full semester of the first half of high school Geometry. If you would like to be provided a percentage score for this class, I am happy to do so. The score will be based on class participation, homework completion, and tests. Look at my reviews on Outschool to read about how other students enjoyed and learned from my Geometry courses. And, please message me if you have any questions.

Supply List
Students will be provided with guided notes and practice assignments for each session, therefore you will need access to a printer. Students should bring a scientific calculator to class. The calculator should have the capability to calculate trig functions. Look for a calculator with the "sin", "cos", and "tan" keys. I use the Texas Instruments TI-30X IIS Scientific Calculator.
External Resources
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Teacher expertise and credentials
Michigan Teaching Certificate in Mathematics
I have successfully taught students Geometry for over twenty years in a variety of school settings. I've worked with students who have learning challenges and high-achieving students, and many students in between. I bring these experiences to the classroom. I know which content can be challenging, and have developed a variety of ways to help learners succeed.
