Homework assignments will include vocabulary posters, creating a dialogue between two characters/comic book strip, written responses to given questions, written piece describing family, self or current activities. Beginner Level
Class structure will see us begin with a starting activity which will invite learners to show what they already know, what they can recall from previous classes or share what they researched for homework. I teach using clear and creative resources, giving concrete examples, explaining verb conjugation, grammar and stock phrases and prepare learners to try out their skills and enjoy conversations with each other and maximize the learning time available to them. I use Q&A, whiteboard and quizzes to assess what learners have absorbed in class as well as homework and online assessment to check competence, fluency and retention. I enjoy assessing learners' progress in lessons using quizzes, games and other interactive activities.
Learning Goals
Students will develop a good knowledge of basic Icelandic and be equipped to hold basic conversation as would be typical of an enthusiastic tourist or one penpal introducing themselves to another describing their lives, hobbies, interests and activities.

Supply List
Students will benefit from a little whiteboard and markers as the Icelandic alphabet contains additional letters within the alphabet which may be easier for students to handwrite and show me their work on their boards in the camera during the meeting, rather than struggle to change settings on keyboards of a shared computer. As we "virtually tour Iceland" and learn about the country as we go, I would like to share recipes, craft and other similar resources. I will send out a fully comprehensive list of any additional materials on enrollment but all ingredients or materials will be common, inexpensive and very easily sourced.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
