Hi, and thank you for checking out my course. I'm Erin and I am a Nutritionist for over 5 years. I graduated in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Applied Human Nutrition with a Major in Dietetics. During my time at university, I have studied nutrition extensively from the moment food gets in our mouths, and how food can impact our digestion and overall health. I own my own nutrition practice, here in Nova Scotia, Canada, and I counsel clients regularly on how to adopt healthier choices. Since our food trends keep evolving, it is my job to make sure your learners are receiving the correct scientific information and to eliminate all the nutrition noise from uncredited sources. I can't wait to meet your learner in my upcoming class.
There will be multiple homework assignments given every week to learners. They will be posted to the classroom in PDF's
pen, pencil, calculator, binder
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
1 hour 40 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
This course will be referring to the healthy eating guidelines established in the United States and Canada and will be inclusive to learners with different dietary needs. While the food guidelines are only "guidelines", it is not always suitable for everyone with certain food intolerances or those that different dietary protocols. Please let me know if your learner follows a specific dietary protocol. Students will learn how to read a food label as outlined by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Throughout this course, I will be briefly discussing kilojoules for learners that do not use calories in their country.
