In this 45 minute yoga class, proper form and breathing are two main topics that will be taught. The importance of relaxing in the poses will also be mentioned. My class will begin with a warm up/stretch. Next, we will move onto a Vinyasa flow with stretching, holding poses, breathing while moving into each pose, and balancing and strengthening exercises. Finally, we will end in a 5 minute meditation/relaxing time where we are quiet and try to clear our minds and relax each muscle in the body...
Students will improve their flexibility, full body strength, concentration, breathing, and balance. They might begin to learn to relax outside of yoga class and feel more calm during stressful situations in every day life. Students might also learn how to clear their minds and improve focus.
Have a yoga mat or soft surface to practice on. (Hard floors might be painful in many positions.) The space of a yoga mat. Water. Optional - yoga blocks, but not necessary.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
We will practice 5 minutes of meditation at the end of class, but there will be no discussion of religion or spirituality (or anything related to these topics.)
