In this one time class, we will begin by allowing time for students to show any art work they have done recently. Then, students will learn some facts about Claude Monet. We will talk about some basic art concepts like "brush stroke" and "inspiration". Then using several of Claude Monet's painting as inspiration, we will create our own lily pond watercolor painting. We will discuss how different seasons and times of day will change the way the lighting and colors may look in a scene before beginning our paintings. This class is a sampler pulled from my ongoing class Famous Artists: Preschool Art and gives students an idea as to how the ongoing sessions are structured. Its also a great stand alone class perfect for students who want to explore famous artists without the weekly commitment! By the end of this class, students will have a unique painting inspired by Claude Monet!

Teacher expertise and credentials
Master's Degree in Education from University of Maryland, College Park
Hello to Everyone! My name is Miss Meghan and I can’t wait to meet your child. I enjoy teaching a variety of classes for preschool and early elementary ages.
I hold a Master's Degree in Early Childhood Special Education. At the beginning of my career, I worked extensively with children with autism in home settings designing programs to help students access the world around them in an empowering way. After my oldest daughter was born, I became a licensed childcare provider creating a home away from home for many children to grow and learn. When my youngest daughter was born, I decided it was time to explore other options and that is how I landed at Outschool. I am so grateful for this opportunity and love meeting new learners from all over the world.
I have a passion for instilling a love of learning in young children through exposure, messy play, and fun! I strongly believe that letting children delve into learning at their own level and allowing for different types of learning styles sets children up for a life long learning journey.
In addition to teaching on Outschool, I also homeschool my two daughters who are my pride and joy. I feel so grateful to have a career that I love that also affords me the opportunity to spend time with my own children as well. In my free time, I enjoy art, brainstorming new lesson ideas, cross stitch, and reading!
I offer science, art, language arts, social studies, math, and social classes for preschool and kindergarten age groups, as well as social groups for neurodivergent! Please feel free to message me with any questions!
