I am a licensed elementary educator with over 7 years of experience teaching all core subjects in K-2, including social emotional learning topics. I have my Master's in Curriculum & Instruction from The Ohio State University, focusing on creative learning methodologies. I held instructional coaching and mentor teacher positions at my previous school focusing on social emotional learning and literacy enhancement. I have a passion for helping students find success in and out of the classroom with emotional literacy!

Before diving into the enriching content of this class, I want to assure parents that our discussions will not be therapeutic in nature. I understand that families have varying comfort levels around certain subjects. Students will be exposed to emotional literacy vocabulary and make connections with book characters, building comprehension and emotional intelligence.
Synopsis of Billy's Bravery by Tom Percival: "Billy absolutely LOVES Nature Girl. She's his favorite superhero EVER! He has read all the books, seen all the cartoons, and he's even got his own Nature Girl costume! So when World Book Day comes round, Billy knows exactly who he wants to dress up as. Then Billy hears a nasty voice in his head. What if he looks silly? What if his friends make fun of him?
